An obelisk surmounted by a cross supported by two octagonal plinths. The whole appears to be in Portland stone. Originally the memorial sat on a single octagonal plinth into which has been etched those killed in World War I. This, with the obelisk, has been lifted and a second matching, larger octagonal plinth has been added for the World War II deaths. For both wars names are only inscribed on seven of the eight sides of the octagonal plinths and they are not in alphabetical sequence.
Plinth top: THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE Plinth, first side: TO THE MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF/ ASCOT WHO DIED/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY/ 1914 - 1919/ ALSO/ TO THOSE WHO DIED/ 1939 - 1945 Plinth, other sides: (Names)
