- Description
- A large upright rectangular black granite stone with a polished front and exposed roughcast sides. The front face of the stone has the regiment's name in gold block lettering and is predominantly decorated with a large engraving of crossed regimental standards, the design of which include listings of battle honours, surrounded by engravings of the regimental cap badge and "hackle" and insignia of original regiments which were constituents of, and amalgamated into, the Fusiliers. These include the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and the Lancashire Fusiliers. The stone stands at the rear of a base of flagstones with a step leading up to it from a stone pathway. The stone is flanked on each side by four grey granite stone commemorative benches, each of which is engraved on the back and front sides of the seatback in black lettering with "The Fusiliers" .
