- Description
- Stone tablet recording the loss of the previous memorials (actually but not stated, in the Blitz, and including our reference) and referring to the "Libera Vitae" in the Imperial War Museum Library (Book LBY 23172, our reference 82012) The church was heavily damaged and worship ceased. It was restored as a Roman Catholic church and reopened in 1953, now being Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

- TO THE GLORY OF GOD / IN MEMORY OF THE EIGHTY FIVE SONS OF / THE LATE BRIXTON INDEPENDENT CHURCH / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914-1918, / THEIR NAMES ARE INSCRIBED IN THE LIBER VITAE, NOW IN THE LIBRARY OF THE / IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM / "LIVE THOU FOR ENGLAND, WE FOR ENGLAND DIED"./ THIS TABLET REPLACES THE EARLIER MEMORIAL.
