Rectangular bronze cast plaque surmounted by a smaller rectangle .with a border of oak leaves and acorns . At top the badge of the Essex Yeomanry surmounted by a royal crown in red and white , below that the dedication in raised letters .

THIS TABLET IS PLACED HERE BY/ALL RANKS OF THE ESSEX YEOMANRY IN MEMORY OF/RICHARD BEALE COLVIN/HONORARY COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT , BRIGADIER GENERAL/AND KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE BATH/HIS MAJESTY'S LIEUTENANT OF ESSEX/IN 1901 HE RAISED THE REGIMENT/WHICH WAS HIS CHIEF PRIDE TO THE END OF HIS CAREER/HE DIED JANUARY 17TH 1936 IN THE 80TH YEAR OF HIS AGE/
