- On a dark green marble backboard a white alabaster tablet , surmounted by a convex curved top carved with leaves , at the sides borders of deeply carved leaves and flowers , at centre top the arms of the RAF with the motto in gold , then below that a gold cross , the dedication incised and coloured black and below the dedication the family coat of arms in red and gold
