Description
The 1st Bispham Scout Headquarters is dedicated to PO Quayle. In addition there is a dedicatory board with inscription and the Scouts Minibus is also dedicated.
Inscription
This building is dedicated to the memory of/ Pilot Officer Peter Quayle/ 1923 - 1943/ Peter joined 1st Bispham in 1937, in 1939 he became Troop Leader, a position/ he held until 1941, when, at the age of 18, he honoured his Scout Promise to/ do his duty volunteered for the Royal Air Force/ As a Pilot in Bomber Command he completed several missions before being/ shot down over Germany in 1943./ In 2006, his sister, Mrs Gloria Eastwood, left almost her entire estate/ to 1st Bispham in her brothers memory./ Her legacy financed the extensive building work completed in 2014/ We will be forever grateful./ LEST WE FORGET
