Details: Council minute which shows that "in October 1915 the Ampthill Urban and District Council received and seconded a proposal to provide a Roll of Honour bearing the names of those men belonging to the town of a Ampthill who were serving with His Majesty's forces." This was displayed publicly in the town square, naming 319 men. In the 1970's the boards were removed and re-fixed in the gallery of St Andrew's Church Ampthill where they still hang. - Reference
