- History
- In January 2014 Mendlesham Parish Council started an appeal to relocate the former memorial (Ref. 4790) to land donated in the churchyard of St Mary’s Parish Church. A new design was commissioned and in November 2014 the new memorial was unveiled. It is constructed in brick and flint and the central plaque is carved in green slate, rather than bronze, to deter any future theft.
