Description
Celtic style cross on a tapered plinth, and a base: all in granite. The memorial is in a larger memorial area which is enclosed by a chain link fence supported on concrete posts at each corner and the centre of each side.

On the shaft of the cross- To the Glory of God/This Memorial/WAS ERECTED BY/J T CLEMMET ESQ/OF MARSDEN HOUSE/BOLTON On the 6 o'clock face of the plinth-IN AFFECTIONATE REMEMBRANCE/OF HIS SON/[name/rank, service]/ALSO THE FOLLOWING WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/[names in 2 columns]/CHRIST DIED FOR ALL MEN. THESE FOR THEIR COUNTRY On the step-"Their name liveth for evermore" On the 12 o'clock face of the plinth-1939-1945/[names In 2 columns]/"AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING/WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"
