Description
A rectangular brass plaque has an extension at the top to accommodate the motto which is emphasised by a recessed area. The main lettering is black with the initials of the name in red. A plain black border curved inside the four corner fixing screws. The wooden backboard is the same shape as the plaque and has a bevelled edge.

PRO PATRIA MORI/ IN HONOUR OF JOHN NEWTON HILL/ 2ND LIEUT. CAMEL TRANSPORT CORPS/ WHO DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED/ AT ROMANI, EGYPT. 11TH AUGUST 1916,/ AGED 25 YEARS./ THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY HIS/ FATHER, MOTHER, BROTHERS AND SISTER/ TO HIS UNDYING MEMORY.
