- A bronzed statue of a standing tiger with bared teeth, representing the regimental tiger, astride a tapering plinth of polished black granite set on a granite base. The plinth top has a decorative barley-twist border with commemorations and insignia incised in gold lettering on each side. The memorial is set on a square stone pavement within a grassed area.

- Face 1: IN ITS 290 YEARS OF HISTORY/ THE ROYAL HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT WAS MADE UP OF/ REGULARS, VOLUNTEERS, TERRITORIALS, MILITIA,/ HOME GUARD, CONSCRIPTS AND NATIONAL SERVICEMEN./ IT WAS ONE OF THE SIX REGIMENTS AT THE BATTLE OF MINDEN ON 1ST AUGUST 1759./ THE REGIMENT WAS KNOWN AS THE TIGERS/ AFTER SERVING IN INDIA FROM 1805 TO 1826./ IT WAS AWARDED THE TITLE 'ROYAL' IN 1946/ FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR./ IN 1992 THE REGIMENT WAS AMALGAMATED WITH/ THE QUEEN'S REGIMENT TO FORM THE PRINCESS OF WALES'S ROYAL REGIMENT/ (QUEEN'S AND ROYAL HAMPSHIRES).
