Details: The premises were gifted in August 1946 by Mrs Mary Elizabeth Mitchell of "Moresdale", Stainburn, in memory of her son, Harrison Mitchell, who had died in the war. It was originally to be called Harrison Mitchell House or Lodge. By the time the deeds were handed over on 6th January 1947 the name had been changed to Remembrance House.
