Description
Dark stone tablet with ornate border and regimental crest above. All surrounded by white plaster (?) in the form of two draped banners, drum, rifle, and solar topee on a shelf supported by two brackets. Commemorates particularly 14 men from Barnsley who fell in the South African War 1899-1902, and also ALL men from the York and Lancaster Regiment who gave their lives in that same conflict.
