  • F S Hoare, the artist was, from the company history (by Stewart Hyslop) but kindly made available in 2019 to the Scottish War Memorials Project (and thence to IWM), a draughtsman at Cochran's boiler works in the town in the 1920's. He was "an artist of considerable ability and examples of his work can still be seen today in old Cochran publications". Stewart Hyslop (born in Glasgow was a successor draughtsman at Cochran's starting there in 1966. The IWM acknowledges the assistance of the SWMP in compiling this update.
