Rectangular brass tablet Royal Flying Corps badge at top centre.
Inscription
To the glory of God and to the eternal memory of Lieut. William Wright Sawden East Riding Royal Garrison Artillery and Royal Flying Corps. Only son of William James and Emily Sawden of Cottingham, Yorks., who was mortally wounded near Ypres - Dickebusch Road, 5th June 1917 Aged 26 Years. Interred at Lissenthock Military Cemetery, Poperinghe. One of the glorious dead/ and they shall be mine sayeth the Lord of hosts in that day when I make up my jewels. Mat. III 17.
