- A powerfully carved figure of a Highland Infantryman standing on a cairn constructed from granite boulders gathered from the slopes of the nearby Ben Cruachan.

- 2006-the joint on the soldier's sleeve at his right elbow is becoming displaced which is occuring as the upper section of the sculpture moves. The rifle muzzle has already become damaged. -due to traffic parking close by 2012-Memorial area cleaned up, and inscription face restored, as had become somewhat worn
