In loving memory of Eric de Burgh Edwardes/Capt. 1st Batt. Royal Gathwal Rifles I.A. only son/ of Lt. Col. A. C. Edwardes C.B.E. of Torquay, Devon/ & of his late wife Mabel Henrietta & grandson/ of the late Gen. Sir Stanley de Burgh Edwardes/ K.C.B. & Lady Edwardes of Sandhurst, Kent./ He lost his life in an accident on the hillside/ and was buried at Lansdowne U.P. India/ 2nd June 1938 aged 32.
