- Description
- Wall mounted landscape orientated brass plaque with border, emblem badge & insignia, all in relief. Inscription has raised lettering. Decorative border comprises a continuous foliated design with berries. Emblem at top left shows a shield held in the front paws of a lion rampant, located within a crown. Beneath the crown is a scroll with motto. Top right of plaque displays the insignia of "The Suffolk Regiment".

- TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF / WILLIAM HENRY FITZROY LANDON / OF CREATON HOUSE IN THIS PARISH / CAPT. 3RD BATTN SUFFOLK REGIMENT / BORN 24TH MAY 1867 AND KILLED IN ACTION 15TH FEB 1915 / WHILE SERVING WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE / BURIED AT DRANOUTRE / HE SERVED ALSO IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR 1900-1 / IN THE BUCKS IMPERIAL YEOMANRY / This tablet is erected as a mark of affection and esteem, / by his many friends in the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries / in which Department he was an Inspector 1893 - 1915.
