History
This memorial, bears an EIIR badge, and was therefore made post-1953. Although now at Holborn Police Station, it actually relates to the WW2 casualties from Grays Inn Road Police Station, where one of them, P Bull, is recorded on the Metropolitan Police Officers’ database as having been based. (Prior to 1966 ‘Holborn Division’ contained no actual ‘Holborn Police Station'. In 1966 the Grays Inn Road Police Station at 70 Theobald’s Road was replaced by the building in Lambs Conduit Street, and was renamed ‘Holborn Police Station’; TNA MEPO 2/9189 refers).
