Description
A curved wall of honour on brick wall base, divided in two halves by a central plinth. A bronze statue of an armed Royal Anglian soldier dressed in combat kit and armed with a general purpose machine gun. The memorial also includes one flagstaff and one cannonball mounted on either side of the plinth. In front of the wall is a paved area and low surrounding brick wall. At the end of the surrounding wall are two taller angled entrance walls. The wall of honour has 10 columns each of 8 stones, representing the 10 counties from which the regiment recruits, plus the 8 antecedent regiments from which it is formed. The 8-pointed star of regimental cap badge has been reproduced on central plinth; in flint on both entrance guide walls; & in outline by paving slab design in middle of paved area.
