Description
Life size figure of Hedd Wynn depicted as as a shepherd with his crook in the left hand. A bronze plaque is embedded in the granite plinth with Welsh inscription. Immediately in front of the granite base is a slate tablet with silvered lettering and a Welsh inscription, and below that a smaller slate tablet with silvered lettering and an English inscription.

Plaque: HEDD WYN/ PRIFARDD EISTEDDFOD GENEDLAETHOL 1917/ CANWYD EF YN MHLWYF TRAWSFYNYDD/A SYRTHIODD AR/ ESCAIR ASGAIR PILKEM YN FFLANDRYS/ CORFENNAF 31, 1917, YN 30 OED Tablet 1: (Inscription as above followed by): EI ABERTH NID A HEIBIO- EI WYNEB/ ANNWYL NID A'N ANGO/ ER I'R ALMAEN YSTAENIO/ EI DWRN DUR YN EI WAED O. (Translation: Hedd Wyn. The winning bard at the National Eisteddfod of 1917. He was born in the Parish of Trawsfynnydd and he fell at Pilkem Ridge, Flanders on 31 July, aged 30 years. His sacrifice will not be forgotten, his countenance so dear will ever be remembered, Though Germany's Iron Fist By his blood is stained.)
