Description
A plinth. bearing engraved lettering, stands upon a two-stepped base. The plinth was originally surmounted by a tapering column, which is engraved with the crest of the Northamptonshire Regiment. The column and its base have broken away, and now lean against the plinth.

AND ALICE BRIGHT./ HE DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED/ IN ACTION IN THE EARLY MORNING/ OF AUGUST 16TH 1916 AND WAS BURIED/ THE SAME DAY IN THE MILITARY CEMETERY/ AT AVELUY IN THE SOMME DISTRICT/ AGED 27 YEARS/ "HE DIED THAT ALL HE LOVED MIGHT LIVE"
