Description
Rectangular bronze plaque mounted on a dark grey marble backboard. Small badge engraved in each top corner, to the left of which is the Dorsetshire Regimental insignia, to the right is a dolphin and scroll. Lettering is engraved.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN FOND MEMORY OF KILCOURSIE S. COURTENAY/ (LIEUT.) THE DORSETSHIRE REGIMENT, ONLY SON OF KILCOURSIE J. AND M. COURTENAY./ HE FELL IN ACTION AT DAMERY (SOMME) AUG 11TH 1918 AGE 25./ HIS BODY WAS MIRACULOUSLY FOUND BY HIS MOTHER ON THE BATTLEFIELD AFTER 14 MONTHS,/ AND BURIED BOUCHOIR (SOMME)./ SO KINDLY BRAVE AND LOVED: FOR HIS COUNTRY'S SAKE TO DEATH HE WENT CONTENT, AND EVER MISSED.
