Rectangular tablet with nowy head. Blue and gold mosaic border and painted decorations of fruit. A Latin cross is depicted in the top centre of tablet. Lettering is carved in black.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ LANCE CORPORAL/ CURTIS CUTHBERT GARSIDE/ 8TH BATTALION, CHESHIRE REGIMENT./ WHO WAS ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED IN THE RIVER/ TIGRIS ON JUNE 12TH 1917, WHILE SERVING HIS/ COUNTRY THERE. AND WAS BURIED IN THE/ CEMETERY AT SINDIYEH, MESOPOTAMIA./ THIS TABLET IS ERECTED/ AS A TOKEN OF LOVE BY HIS PARENTS.
