Rectangular brass plaque with incised commemoration in black and red lettering set within a single line border.
Inscription
PRAY FOR THE SOUL/ OF/ FRANCIS SANDYS DUGMORE/ CAPTAIN ON RET. PAY64TH REGT AND LIEUT.RNR. 2ND SON SURVIVING OF WILLIAM DUGMORE QC/ OF SWAFFHAM, NORFOLK. B 1939. M 1868 EVELYN 2ND DAUGHTER OF WILLIAM/ LORD BROUGHAM AND VAUX BY WHOM HE HAD FIVE SONS AND ONE DAUGHTER SURVIVING./ SERVED IN DEFENCE OF CANADA AGAINST 2 FENIAN RAIDS. IN SIR C WARREN'S/ BECHUANALAND EXPEDITION 1885-6 IN EAST AFRICA. IN THE ARAB WAR 1895-6/ INCLUDING MWELE. AGAINST THE SOMALIS ON THE TANA 1894. IN THE WAKAMBA/ EXPEDITION 1896. AND IN THE UGANDA WARS OF 1896. DIED AT MOMBASA NOV 11/ 1898 WORN OUT BY THE HARDSHIPS OF THE UGANDA CAMPAIGN/ R.I.P.
