SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF/ LEONARD REDMAYNE/LIEUTENANT H M 14TH LIGHT DRAGOONS/ ELDEST SON OF THE LATE WILLIAM TRASURE REDMAYNE ESQ/ OF BURRO AND HAZELRIGGE/, WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION WITH THE REBELS AT MUNDESORE/EAST INDIES, ON THE 23RD NOVEMBER 1857,/ AGED 23 YEARS. /HE FELL GALLANTLY CHARGING WITH THE SQUADRON/ UNDER COMMAND LIEUT LEITH. A LARGE BODY OF THE ENEMY/ WHO WERE THREATENING THE REAR OF THE FORCE/ UNDER BRIGADIER STUART’S COMMAND/ WHICH WAS ENGAGED HOTLY TO THE FRONT./ “IS IT WELL WITH THEE? IS IT WELL WITH THY HUSBAND?
