Description
Memorial garden in shape and design of the RAF Apprentices' insignia of a brass wheel, primarily made of terracotta/brick paving and coloured gravel enclosed within a beech hedge. There are pavers around the perimeter of the site commemorating different Apprentice Entries and individual apprentices. Decorative cast-iron gates with the years 1992-1993 above the Apprentices' insignia open and lead to a rough-cast irregular-shaped stone of remembrance with a rectangular inlaid brass plaque set on a decorative hard surface. The pathway to the stone and beyond to the centre of the garden is delineated with memorial stone tablets with commemorative inscriptions. The garden includes an information plaque on a plinth and individual remembrance plaques.
