- Richly illustrated 72 page book of Roll of Honour, on which no expense was spared, which minutely details the war work (on page 71) of the LNWR, as a company and of its employees. Over 3,700 copies were produced- one for the family of each of the casualties. Black cloth with gilt lettering, all plates loose. Each page is in certificate form (landscape format), coloured cream with silver or gilt decorations. The statistical page, page 3, is a facsimile copy of the Roll of Honour which was displayed at all LNWR Stations. (34% of the workforce of 93,359 served). Page 1 has details of the 3 VC Winners-JA Christie of London, E Sykes of Mossley, Lancashire & W Wood of Stockport- all 3 survived. Page 2 is the presentation page. Pages 4 to 51 are the casualty details pages- between 76 and 80 names per page except page 51 which is 42 names.Page 52 is illustrations of 20 medals, page 53 details of the recipients of the 1 Order of the Bath, 2 CBE, 2 DSO, 14 OBE & 12 MBE medals. Pages 54 to 66 detail the recipients of the 41 MC, 2 DFC, 1 Air Force Cross, 1 Albert Medal, 1 Albert Service Medal, 106 DCM, 4 DSM, 417 MM, 1 DFM and 151 MSM medals. (a total of 756 UK Medals). Pages 66 to 68 detail the recipients of 34 Foreign Medals-11 French Croix de Guerre, 1 French Medaille Militaire, 15 Belgian Croix de Guerre and 1 of each of the Serbian Gold Medal, Serbian Silver Medal, Serbian Cross of Humanity, Roumanian Medaille, Greek Military Cross 3rd class, Russian Order of St Stanislaus & Italian Croce di Guerra. Pages 69 & 70 detail the recipients of 69 Mentioned in Despatches & 52 Brought to Notice for Valuable Service.
