Description
Nowy headed tablet surmounted by a crown and royal coat of arms with a scroll. Below is a Cross of Sacrifice with a encircling wreath and the names either side. Memorial later fell in to disrepair and was replaced by a new plaque. See WMR 97696.

FOR KING & COUNTRY/ AUGUST 1914- NOVEMBER 1918/ REMEMBER BEFORE GOD/ THE GALLANT MEN WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR FOR FREEDOM OF THE WORLD/ (Names)/ "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/ THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED/ BY OLIVER W. HIND CAPTAIN OF THE CLUB TO THE GLORIOUS & IMPERISHABLE MEMORY/ OF THE OLD BOYS WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE AT THE CALL OF DUTY/ THINK UPON THEM WITH REVERENCE & FORGET NOT THEY DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY & FOR YOU.
