Description
Cenotaph with reliefs and inscriptions on all four sides. The reliefs depict a soldier, a sailor, an airman and a nurse. The memorial is surmounted by a bronze sculpture of a robed female figure striding forward with a naked man falling at her feet. In her upraised left hand, the female figure holds the stem of what was originally a palm of victory. In her right hand is the hilt of a now-vanished sword.
