SOLDIER WITH RIFLE RAISED 'ON GUARD', STANDING PROTECTIVELY OVER A WOUNDED COMRADE LYING ON THE GROUND. ON BROAD GRANITE PLINTH. TWO-STEP, TALL RECTANGULAR BASE. SCULPTURE STANDS ON TOP STEP. BRONZE LEAF MOTIF IS APPLIED TO ALL SIDES OF PLINTH.
