- Description
- Stained glass window with five lights depicting Wisdom, Power, Love and Truth, Joy and Faith with many trifoils and quatrefoils, biblical text and dedication brass plaque at the base.
- Inscription
- Along the bottom of the window: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF BASIL PERRIN HICKS LIEUT 8th BERKSHIRE REGT WHO GAVE HIS LIFE AT LOOS SEPT 25 1915 AGED 22 Brass Plaque: The Great West Window was designed/ by the distinguished stained glass artist/ Henry Holiday (1839-1927). It depicts the/ fruits of the Spirit, symbolised by angelic/ figures, and is dedicated to Lt Basil Perrin/ Hicks, 8th Royal Berkshire Regiment, who/ gave his life in the Battle of Loos on 25th/ September 1915. The young soldier in the/ helmet, at bottom right is a portrait of him.
