- An illuminated page, framed and glazed, recording and describing a Council Minute commemorating the 50th anniversary of the surrender of Singapore and the sacrifice of Blackpool residents who served and died there.

- Blackpool Borough Council/ At a Special Meeting of/ the Council of the Borough held/ at the Town Hall/ on Friday 31st of January 1992/ It was moved by Councillor John Turton/ Seconded by Councillor Harold Lewis/ Resolved: It is 50 years since the surrender of Singapore during the Far/ East Campaign in which some 2,000 men from Blackpool and the surrounding/ area served. The Council wishes to mark the occasion by remembering the/ sacrifice of those men who did not return but gave their lives that we might/ live in peace and security and by thanking those who did return for the/ valuable service they have to the town./ Accordingly the Council records its sincere thanks to all those men of/ this area who served in the Far East Campaign as members of the 137th / Army Field Regiment, the 88th Field Regiment and the 2nd and 5th Loyals,/ the Royal Navy, The Royal Marines, the Royal Air Force and other Army Units./ Certified as a true extract/ (Signed)/ Chief Executive
