SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THE FOUR/GRANDSONS OF REV CANON JOHN MACAULAY/RECTOR OF THIS PARISH 1849-1874/ PERCY JOHN FREDERICK MACAULAY/LIEUT ROYAL ENGINEERS KILLED IN ACTION/AT WANA 3RD NOVEMBER 1894 DURING A NIGHT ATTACK ON BRITISH CAMP BY MASHUD WAZIRIS/NORTH WEST FRONTIER INDIA AGED 27 KENNETH ZACHARY POLLOCK MACAULAY/LIEUT LOYAL NORTH LANCASHIRE REGIMENT/DIED OF WOUNDS AT MIDDLEBURG, TRANSVAAL/30TH JANUARY 1901.
