- Two ornamental plinths made of Portland stone standing either side of the walkway to the main war memorial. Those commemorated were from Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Hollingworth, Mossley and Stalybridge
