Description
A white marble stone on a family grave. The grave has oblong white marble kerbstones with inlaid inscriptions on the upper face in upright capital block lettering. The additional stone is in the style of a scroll unfurled on the surface of the grave and bears a further inscription in similar style.

East kerb: In Loving Memory of North kerb: WILLIAM RATCLIFFE, AGED 70 YEARS. South kerb: ALSO HIS BELOVED WIFE ANN RATCLIFFE, AGED 50 YEARS. Gravestone: ALSO OF THEIR TWO GRANDSONS/ GEORGE W. PEGG,/ GRENR. GUARDS,/ KILLED IN FRANCE JULY 11TH. 1916,/ AGED 21 YEARS./ &/ WILLIAM RATCLIFFE,/ 6TH. NORTH STAFFS./ KILLED IN FRANCE MAY 8TH. 1917./ AGED 21 YEARS./ LEST WE FORGET.
