- Description
- Addition to grave space defined by four undecorated rough-hewn flat kerb sections. Space centre has been capped with gravel overlay. Rough hewn undecorayed Latin cross standing on two tier rough hewn base. Towards top of space inscription in black lead lettering on both front steps and over both steps to left side only.

- Front steps: IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ MARY ELIZABETH/ WIFE OF JAMES POPPLE/ OF CASTLETHORPE HALL, BRIGG/ WHO DIED JULY 8th 1922 AGED 66 YEARS/ "TIL THE DAY BREAK AND THE SHADOWS FLEE AWAY"/ ALSO OF/ JAMES POPPLE/ WHO DIED APRIL 26th 1929 AGED 79 YEARS Left steps: ALSO OF GEORGE MARSDEN POPPLE/ 2nd LIEUT 15 NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS/ AGED 21 YEARS/ KILLED IN ACTION JUNE 26th 1916/ AND IS BURIED AT AUTHUILLE SOMME FRANCE
