Description
An addition to a slate headstone on a family grave. The headstone has a pointed arch top, a broad border formed from ivy leaves between narrow lines, a spray of ivy leaves at the head and an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering. The headstone is accompanied by plain oblong sandstone kerbs.

Headstone: IN/ AFFECTIONATE/ REMEMBRANCE OF/ HERBERT TOPLIS,/ BELOVED HUSBAND OF/ LAVINIA TOPLIS,/ WHO DIED SEPT. 24TH. 1915,/ AGED 78 YEARS./ "HIS END WAS PEACE."/ ALSO THE ABOVE/ LAVINIA TOPLIS,/ WHO DIED JANY. 16TH. 1923,/ AGED 86 YEARS./ ALSO/ ENOCH EDWARD TOPLIS,/ KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE/ WITH THE R.F.A. SEPT. 27TH. 1916,/ AGED 21 YEARS./ ALSO GEORGE FLINT,/ KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE/ WITH THE A.I.F. APRIL 9TH. 1917,/ AGED 22 YEARS./ GRANDSONS OF THE ABOVE/ AT REST. Foot of headstone: S.
