- Rectangular metal plaque on wooden backboard. Above the inscription are: the badge of the Machine Gun Corps, an image of a Mark I male tank, and the badge of the Tank Corps. [The tank mentioned on this plaque was relocated in May 1969 to the Tank Museum at Bovington - see our record WMR 64492].

- AFTER 50 YEARS IN HATFIELD PARK THIS MARK I TANK WAS PRESENTED BY/ ROBERT FIFTH MARQUESS OF SALISBURY, K.G., P.C. TO THE ROYAL ARMOURED CORPS TANK MUSEUM. IT WAS TRANSFERRED TO BOVINGTON CAMP 7th MAY 1969. (There may be minor errors in this transcription)

- Luton News and Bedfordshire Chronicle - Thursday 22 May 1919 (page 12) reported: A ponderous tank last week made its way into Hatfield town and up the south front of Hatfield House.
