- Description
- An addition to a memorial on a family grave comprising a white marble cross on a four-stepped base accompanied by kerbstones. The plain Latin cross has an inlaid inscription at the centre in upright capital Roman lettering. The base has four oblong steps with an inlaid inscription on the 6 o'clock face mainly in upright capital block lettering and the plain oblong kerbs have the maker's mark incised at the foot in upright capital lettering.

JOE BURTON,/ YOUNGEST SON OF THE ABOVE, WHO FELL IN/ ACTION NEAR HAVRINCOURT WOOD, FRANCE,/ SEPT. 6TH. 1918, AGED 21 YEARS./ "HE LAID HIS RICHEST GIFT ON THE ALTER/ OF GOD - HIS LIFE."/ ALSO OF ENA PHYLLIS BURTON./ GRAND DAUGHTER, WHO FELL ASLEEP OCT. 9TH. 1919./ AGED 4 YEARS./ "AND HE CALLED THEM."
