- Description
- Four battlefield crosses against an external wall with a square dark grey , possibly slate , tablet set into the wall bearing the dedication in gold lettering . Three of the crosses are in the shape of a celtic cross , the fourth is a plain cross with a small brass plate at the crossing point . The three celtic style crosses have no visible traces of any painted commemorative details and it is unlikely that these are original .They may have been replacements for original crosses which deteriorated by weather exposure or possibly replicas . The War Memorials Register has no record of any Battlefield Crosses where there is reliable evidence of having been returned from Gallipoli .
