Description
Wall mounted nowy headed cast bronze plaque, inscription and names in relief upon a black background. Top of the plaque contains the regimental badge of the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment below which is the regimental number 33 and two laurel branches. Below this are two crossed standards. Top corners contain the letters DWR and the lower corners contain the letters SAMP. There is a two lined border within which is a pattern design.

SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF/ ALEXANDER FREDERIC WALLIS/ CAPTAIN DUKE OF WELLINGTON'S (WEST RIDING) REGIMENT WHO FELL FIGHTING/ FOR HIS QUEEN AND COUNTRY NEAR ARUNDEL/ FEBRUARY 24TH 1900 AGED 33 YEARS DURING THE BOER WAR AT THE TIME OF/ THE RELIEF OF KIMBERLEY AND LADYSMITH/ ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF/ HARRY WALLIS/ LIEUTENANT BRITISH S.AFRICAN MOUNTED/ POLICE WHO DIED OF FEVER AT GABERONES/ S.AFRICAN 21ST APRIL 1900 AGED 30 YEARS/ WHILST SERVING WITH COLONEL PLUMER'S FORCE FOR THE RELIEF OF MAFEKING/ BOTH OF THE ABOVE OFFICERS WERE SONS/ OF MAJOR A B WALLIS FORMERLY OF/ DUKE OF WELLINGTON'S (WEST RIDING) REGT/ THIS MEMORIAL WAS PLACED/ HERE BY THEIR FRIENDS
