- Stone of Remembrance, shaped as pillar, surmounted by by a star shaped plaque inscribed with the badge of the 9th Air Force, followed by a drawing of a P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft in USAAF markings, flying left to right with Dedicatory inscription of names on front facing metal plaque.

- On the Star plaque:This Memorial is dedicated to the memory of five American fighter pilots of the 50th Fighter Group-, Ninth Air Force, USAAF who lost their lives as a result of an aircraft accident that heppened in these woods on Sunday 2nd July 1944 at 12.10pm. The Cessna UC-78 Bobcat transport type of aircraft, serial no. 43-7528 was flying from Carentan, Normandy, France to Chilbolton airfield. Some of those on this aircraft were going on operational leave having participated in the invasion to liberate Europe on D-Day, 6th June 1944./ (Names)/ At the going down of the sun and in the morning/ We will Remember Them. (Exact line spacing unknown). Front plaque: (Names) Underneath the name is recorded the home town in which they were born, then the State and date of birth.
