Wooden settle with ornately carved back and lower front. The seat in hinged and the dedicatory plaque attached to it.

Brass plaque: THIS SETTLE WAS DONATED TO/ WHALLEY PARISH CHURCH/ IN MEMORY OF/ PRIVATE WILLIAM EXTON/ OF THIS PARISH/ WHO DIED ON 16th OCTOBER 1916/ OF WOUNDS RECEIVED AT THE/ BATTLE OF LOOS. Next of Kin Memorial Scroll on the settle seat to Pte W Exton.
