Description
Soldier in full uniform wearing steel helmet, with slung rifle and fixed bayonet. His head is bowed over a limp semi-naked figure which he is holding. This figure has a bandaged head, identity discs and remnants of uniform. At the Royal Academy a descriptive plaque was attached to the plinth giving details of the history of the Rainbow Division: see file for text.
