- Costs
Comments: Some of the £800 surplus from the town's Boer War Relief Fund was earmarked for a hospital when the town used other monies from the Fund to create its Memorial in front of the Town Hall (see WMR 15267), but no building arose from this. The site was given by Lord Newton, and the building cost £9000. Equipment to the value of about £1250 from the former wartime VAD Hospital at Garswood was donated to furnish the hospital.
