Description
The memorial is a bronze plaque set into a rock. Top left is the RFC crest for 1914-1918 and top right is the RAF crest for 1939-1945. Between them are the latin words "Per Ardua / Ad Astra" (Through adversity to the stars). In the centre of the plaque is a bas-relief piece showing formations of aircraft and, immediately below the aircraft, is a bas-relief scene of the white cliffs of Dover. The inscription is beneath, on the lower segment of the plaque.
