- Light-grey granite obelisk on a square plinth and single stepped base, with four plaques on the sides of the plinth. Surrounded by paved area of York stone.

- Plaque 1: Private Samuel Parkes VC who was a Wigginton born man awarded the Victoria Cross for valour for his actions during the Charge of the Light Brigade on 25th Oct 1854. Plaque 2: To those who gave their lives in the service of their country from the Parish of Wigginton/ FIRST WORLD WAR/ (Names)/ SECOND WORLD WAR/ (Names)/ MALAYAN EMERGENCY 1948/ (Name) Plaque 3: The memorial was financed by Local Fundraising & Dedicated in the presence of HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO on 14th September 2011.
