- Agreement to colour the reredos was obtained in the incumbency of the Rev. Walsham How (Vicar 1925-35), but this was not done until 1938 by his successor, the Rev. Mr Painter (Vicar 1935-46) in 1938. He added armorial devices: on the left, Canterbury, Oxford, the Meux family; on the right Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force.

Comments: By Jan. 1920 £454 2s 2d had been collected, but collection continued. In May 1920 it was stated that the cost of the figures had been raised to £20.July 1922 final payment had been made.
