- Description
- Memorial garden, semi-circular in shape, with an outer band of planting and a low dry-stone wall. Stone of remembrance sits in centre of garden and is rough-hewn with a polished front face. Dedication on front in black lettering. Area in front of wall is paved and in centre is a flag pole flying the Union Jack. Whole is set roadside and provides a place where the public can pay their respects during repatriations. A memorial bell was added in 2012 and is situated on the opposite side of the road to the garden. The bell is hung in a wooden bell tower with metal top. Inscription cast in relief on bell. Whole is surrounded by a semi-circular paved area and flanked by two benches. The bell tolls at repatriations.
